There’s a difference between one of the best and the best: the absolute standard of industry recognition.
There’s actually a sort of custom electronics Olympics put on every year by CEDIA, the industry association. The CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles Awards cover a lot of ground, but in 2007, we took home the gold in what many consider the two main events.
Our first gold that year was for best technical design of an integrated home system in the top bracket, the $1M-$3M+ range. This system was designed from scratch and built into a new home of about 30,000 square feet. The home was wired for A/V with displays and audio in nearly every room; movies all accessible from touch panels all over the house including a dedicated state-of-the-art home theater. But entertainment wasn’t all the Crestron touch panels offered the clients. Further applications included control of outdoor and pool lighting, fountains and waterfalls, even home security.
This truly is the technology dream home.
Our other CEDIA gold was also for technical design of a dressed A/V system for which we also are proud to have won the silver in this category too. It was the first time the same company won both gold and silver in the same category for two different projects.
