Steven Tyler flying high with SampleTank®

Aerosmith’s legendary frontman.

Celebrity engineer, producer and studio designer David Frangioni was in Orlando when he got the call from Aerosmith's legendary frontman Steven Tyler. Steven had a powerbook and a small keyboard controller, he wanted to be able to compose music on his airplane. Steven wanted the sound set of a Korg Triton™ workstation within his powerbook for a wide range of sound content. David Frangioni knew that Steven Tyler's expectations would be high, so he researched the subject intently. He put a call in to Gil Gowan from Digidesign and asked his opinion. After some careful brainstorming he was pointed towards SampleTank® 2. Shortly thereafter Frangioni sent a fresh copy of IK Multimedia's award-winning Virtual Sound Workstation to Paul Santo (Aerosmith's engineer inBoston).
